Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:28-31
The service opens with Brother Freedom sharing recent revelations God gave him concerning the church and the purpose of the anointing of the Holy Ghost in the work of the church.
God’s power is centered in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost. After Brother Freedom read Isaiah (years ago) he saw by revelation that all of the power of God was centered in the Spirit of God. He knew that he needed the fullness of the Spirit of God in order to have power to do the works that God desired.
Many so called “full-gospel churches” are NOT led by the Spirit of God at all!! They are led by a pastor or some committee or board. The bottom line of that is the leadership of the flesh! It is an insult to God HIMSELF!
The leadership of the flesh comes out of what we know, what we have learned, what we have researched. But the leadership of the Spirit of God has nothing to do with what you know. The leadership of the Spirit of God is beyond all human understanding or knowledge. The Spirit can give us knowledge, but that knowledge is all revelation, not reasoning. In fact, the leadership of the Holy Spirit will often go against human logic and seem impossible to the little minds of men.
If anyone does understand and have the move of the Spirit of God and stands up to share what God is saying these leaders will sit them down and tell them to be silent. They do not trust the move of God. They are suspicious of anything that does not fit into their intellectual understanding of men. They say, “We know the mind of the Lord!” But they only know it through the flesh.
Brother Freedom talks about how in the Caterpillar world he moved through the flesh and through the Spirit of God. He learned that the flesh was something that he knew. The Spirit was something he acted on when he didn’t know. The Spirit is not only what you don’t know, but it is power as well. The Spirit of God brings things to pass and through the Spirit you can know all things. The Spirit of God will bring all things to your remembrance.
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in THY sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” [Psalm 19:14]
This Scripture is God saying that everything in our mind needs to be moved by God through HIS Spirit. We can’t think properly when the foundation of our thinking is the human intellect. But when the Spirit of God takes over our mind then we start thinking correctly. But men can’t grasp this because they can’t get an intellectual proof on it very easily.
The things of God are all by revelation from HIM. Through God’s revelation you can know things, but you don’t know by what technology God has brought this knowledge to you other than it is by HIS Spirit. There is no other way for the people of God than by the Spirit of God. All man contrived pathways can never be 100 percent trustworthy. They may work and they may not work. But authentic revelation from God Almighty is absolutely 100 percent trustworthy, even when it appears totally absurd to our thinking!
Many times the so called “Spirit-filled churches” have made what God stands for a mockery because these churches are operated out of the flesh or the mental and intellectual capacities of people. They are not running by revelation of the Spirit of God or by what the Spirit is saying to the churches. They use the Bible, but they won’t use the POWER of God, which is HIS Spirit.
As a result these churches are moving on the history of the Bible. Most sermons are really Bible history being regurgitated.
God wants us to take the history of the Bible and bring it to pass by HIS Spirit, making it a reality in the now. This can only happen by the pronouncing of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, the Third Person of the Trinity of God. The world pronounces of SELF, a self indulgence in the Word of God. There are people who spend a lifetime in the Word of God. They know a great deal about the Word of God. But, the Holy Spirit in the Word is a process of letting God be in control of what is extracted from the Bible. The Spirit of God needs to be in control at all times and in all areas of the work of the Church of Jesus Christ.
God gives us a lot of latitude as long as we stay within the direction of the Holy Spirit. But when God tells us that we are going off course we stop and wait for correction in the direction to go. When God, through HIS Spirit says, “STOP!” We halt right at that point and wait on HIM for re-direction.
Brother Freedom speaks of the story of Jonah and the similarities in the modern church. God had to re-direct Jonah’s steps. Jonah decided that God’s direction was some how not the way he should go. The sad thing about the modern church is that when it gets belched out by some big fish, that God sends along to bring correction, the church just turns back to it’s original plan. The modern church doesn’t take any hints from God. It doesn’t listen to what the Spirit of God is saying to the church of Jesus Christ.
The modern church says, “God, I want you to bless what I’m doing.” We have that wrong! We need to bless what God is doing. God is the “thinker-upper” of all plans and works. We are to follow God, not God follow us. When you follow self the end is self. When you follow God you have success, you will have a move from Heaven.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” [Galatians 6:7]
If we sew a lot of flesh we are going to reap a lot of flesh!! If we sew righteousness we are going to reap righteousness. If we sew much seed in God we are going to see a harvest in abundant prayers answered.
The method very active in the church world today is “just do it,” get a committee and think it out and then pray over it and ask God to bless it. There really is no spiritual depth in what the churches are trying to do.
Brother Freedom learned much about “praying through.” It is a very difficult process. It is time consuming, waiting on God to answer. There is much hard dedication to the Lord God to pray through to a true answer, a true directive from Heaven. That may be why committees are so much more popular. They are not easy either, but they are much easier than praying through and getting authentic divine direction from the Throne Room of God.
Brother Freedom points out that the greatly anointed men of God were moved upon in certain areas. Perhaps it was healing or some other area. But God is bigger than one area! But when the church moves through the Spirit of God the church can excel in all areas and God’s people can excel outside the walls of the church. God wants to work in all arenas and all domains, not just inside the walls of a church.
The gifts are a mighty unction and move of the Spirit of God. Discernment, prophecy, tongues and interpretation and all the other gifts are by the Spirit and are powerful tools that God’s Spirit can operate if the church will allow.
When an individual or a church or a denomination says that it won’t accept the gifts of the Spirit then they are telling God “I don’t need what YOU’ve got!” The bottom line of that is that these groups only have a dead form of religion and not the authentic move of God. Those groups know nothing of the power of God. God HIMSELF is behind the gifts and workings of HIS Spirit. God doesn’t make mistakes.
God lets these groups have their own way. The result is a self made church. You have people who are led by self. It means the pastor or some committee or some person or persons is the controller.
But by the Spirit of God it is much different. When the Spirit of God moves upon a person HE moves in the spiritual realm. God the Holy Spirit knows exactly what you need! And the person full of the Spirit will know also by the revelation of the Spirit of God. The work of God just flows in perfection when the Spirit of God is the controller.
When the work of God is by “self” nothing worthy happens. There are disagreements, envy, strife. All kinds of little bonfires start up here and there that someone has to try and put out.
The Spirit of God doesn’t start troublesome bonfires. The Spirit of God has love. The Spirit of God has all the information that we need, and more! HE is more than sufficient!
Brother Freedom says that it sure bugs him as to why people would want to get rid of the Spirit of God. Brother Freedom has been a supporter of the Spirit of God for years. But the church leaders have said, “We don’t need it!” They do need the move of the Holy Spirit of God!
Brother Freedom says that those who are against the Spirit of God are revealing that there is some of Satan in the Church! Satan is working in any church that resists the move of the Holy Spirit! Often the pastors have not been big enough to resist such things.
A church without the Spirit of God is often working only by the Word of God. There is no power of the Spirit in that mode, only the work of the Word of God. But it takes the Spirit of God to use the Word of God correctly! When you come against the Spirit of God you have a dried up mess! When you get contrary to the Spirit of God, God will put a settlement upon you and you are going to grow weary in well doing! In Galatians 6:9 the Bible says “…let us not be weary in well doing…”
If you go in the way of the Bible without the Spirit of God you are going to reap a harvest of troubles!! That is not God’s method or plan! You will see divorces in the church, your young people leaving the churches and going into sins. It is because you are operating your church on a wrong standard from the very birth of that church. You need the Holy Ghost from Heaven. That is why these churches that are standing solely on the Word of God without the aid of the Holy Ghost are without help. They need the help of God’s Spirit.
Man cannot do the will of God! Man is far from God! We need to be big enough to say, “I need help!”
Brother Freedom knows that he needs the help of the Holy Ghost every day. He desires a closer walk a closer talk in the Lord. He wants to continuously grow in God.
God’s people often don’t want to grow! When a young plant, or a Christian is contained so that they can’t expand or grow they will become fruitless. They will never mature. They will be puny, unhealthy. God’s children were made to grow in HIM! We are to take on God’s nature. Without the Spirit of God we cannot bear the fruit that God wants to lay into us. We are not clean enough for the work of spiritual reproduction. We are not ready to produce loving kindness, tender mercy.
The church world has projected its story saying that a person accepts Jesus Christ as your personal savior and HE paid all and then we tell people come and join our fellowship. And if you stay in the fellowship for all your lifetime, all will be well. No need to be concerned. You can enjoy life, travel, have fun. But you are guaranteed to make Heaven and when you get to Heaven any changes needed will be made and completed.
But Brother Freedom declares that the changes must take place NOW, in this life not in Heaven! The changes that must be made in God are NOW! The Bible would NOT say:
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” [Matthew 6:19-21]
The Bible would not say the above Scripture if there was to be no growth in the Spirit of God. There is a work to be done and changes to be made here so that when a person arrives in Heaven they will already have something special. There are no changes in Heaven. The changes are done here for Heaven.
Serving the living God, walking in holiness, walking by victory in God, being concerned where you are headed, not careless in your life style! These are treasures to be laid up in Heaven while you are on planet earth.
Brother Freedom sees so many Christians who are careless in their life style. They go where angels fear to tread. They walk into dangerous territory because they think that they are God’s super saints. But they need a touch from God. They have not arrived and yet they are living dangerously.
Self hypnosis has taken over the children of God! They are being moved on by the enemy of their souls who is fooling them. Satan has made them believe that they are right and so correct in all that they are doing. They have a righteous, false mirage about them. They are full of spiritual pride. They are puffed up. They love to argue about the Word of God. They think they know the Word of God so well. But the Bible says:
“Abstain from all appearance of evil.” [1st Thessalonians 5:22] “…shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness…” [2nd Timothy 2:16]
We are to walk godly in all areas, walking by the Spirit of God. God would not put these things in HIS Bible if this was not true.
In Isaiah it says:
“HE giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might HE increaseth strength.” [Isaiah 40:29]
This verse from Isaiah is what the Spirit of God does for the believer. HE gives you strength to go on day by day. You grow into a being that blossoms out by the Spirit of God. You have love, peace, joy. Many churches say they have all of this already. But Brother Freedom knows many of them don’t have these things from the Spirit of God.
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary…” [Isaiah 40:30a] Without the power of God we all fail! That is why the old time revivals made changes and improvements that often did not last very long because if human nature takes over you will be back down in the flesh again, the same old mold. That is where we lose our first love. We need the continual refreshing and flow of the Holy Ghost to maintain us. But the churches teach believers that going up and falling back down is the natural cycle of spirituality. But when the Spirit of God is released upon you and is maintained it is a continuing touch from Heaven in your being.
Brother Freedom admits that few want to hear this message because Satan has so deceived believers that they are unable to receive the truth of the fullness of the Holy Ghost that is available.
The once saved always saved doctrine is so much more convenient. You don’t have to do much and you are guaranteed your entrance into the Heavenly city. It is a fantastically alluring doctrine. It is a self justifying doctrine.
But Brother Freedom is concerned with what God has said in HIS book, the Bible. The Bible does not line up with these convenient, quick-fix doctrines that require little but promise much.
The Spirit of God can give you peace when there is no peace to be seen around you. HE can give you joy when everything all about you is going bad. It is done by the Spirit of God and being in the Spirit of God.
You might teach that you get all of this when you are saved. But Jesus said:
“But ye shall receive POWER, AFTER that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…” [Acts 1:8a]
The Bible shows believers coming into the fullness of the Spirit of God as a subsequent kind of thing. They receive the fullness following their inauguration into the family of God.
Brother Freedom tells of his own experience as a believer. Before he received the Baptism in the Holy Ghost he had a somewhat limited experience. But after the Baptism he began to grow like a plant that has had Miracle Grow fertilizer poured upon it. The Baptism was a new beginning into a time of super growth.
In these dark times a Christian can hardly live without the Baptism in the Holy Ghost because in these days the powers of the enemy are so gigantically expanded and engulfing.
The Spirit of God will bring you into a knowing. HE will bring the Bible alive to you. The infilling will bring you into a supernatural glimpse of God’s glory.
The Holy Ghost is that ONE you can share your burdens with. HE is that ONE that walks by your side. HE is the Comforter!
When we try to walk the spiritual way in ourselves we get deceived. Only the Holy Ghost knows the way through and out to greater things. Brother Freedom truly believes that is what is wrong with the modern church. We have not allowed the Spirit of God to be alive in us. We need to have a sense that is beyond any sense that is in this natural world.
Nothing else but the fullness of the Holy Ghost is going to please and satisfy us. The Spirit of God is very special! He sticks closer than a brother. HE brings Jesus’ promise to pass. That is how Jesus is close to us. It is through the Holy Ghost that this happens.
We as God’s people need to be ready for the return of Christ. The Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit is the ONE who can make us ready and acceptable to be taken in the “twinkling of an eye.” Without the Spirit of God we grow weary. We get tired. All mankind gets tired. That is why we need the Spirit of God.
The fullness of the Spirit is something individual. The Holy Ghost brings God’s direction and growth to you in a way that is personally fitted just for you, different than for some other believer. God has a unique educational-growth plan for you and you alone, through the Spirit of God!
Any time we go against the power of the Holy Ghost terrible things are going to happen. When we deliberately go against the laws that God has set in place awful things will happen. For example, when nations go against Israel they will see terrible things happen. Recently America has been going against Israel. Negative things are the result. Disasters and catastrophes follow. The same is true of the Holy Ghost. Those who come against the Spirit of God are in grave danger.
The visible church is in trouble right now because of how it has treated the Holy Spirit of God. Because of how the churches have acted in recent years the presence of the Spirit of God has even lessened over our nation in general. Evil is coming in like a flood. We are living in perilous times! We need to wake up! Our Nation is failing, but that doesn’t mean that we need to fail.
If we get our eyes upon the Lord, Jesus Christ, that we are looking for that day that HE comes through the clouds of glory and that is what the Holy Ghost helps us to be ready for. We will be watching and preparing properly if the Holy Ghost is in control of us.
“But the anointing which ye have received of HIM abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in HIM.” [1st John 2:27]
This Scripture is speaking of the anointing of the Holy Ghost. When we are under Holy Ghost control and guidance we don’t need any person to tell us anything. We get weaned from the teachings of men and are in the school of the Holy Spirit. We get a greater guidance, a safer guidance, a more accurate guidance direct from our Father in Heaven through the Spirit of God. But you won’t hear very many preachers telling you about this truth.
The Spirit of God will teach you and lead you into the deeper life. The Spirit will show you great and mighty things you don’t know (See Jeremiah 33:3).
But when we start leaning toward the ways of the enemy the Spirit of God quietly backs off and exits. And that is what we have done. The churches have grieved the Spirit of God and backed away from HIM, from the things of God. They are allowing seducing spirits. They are allowing things that God hates to come into their fellowships.
In days gone by the churches didn’t allow anyone to be a Sunday School teacher who was living a questionable life style. But today we have let those standards down in many places. The modern church thinks it is okay.
Watching wrong things in the media will take away any anointing you might have! We need to be very careful what we take into our eyes and ears. But the modern church thinks we need to be exposed to much that is in the world.
Wrong things will take away your first love for the Lord God Almighty. The infilling of the Holy Ghost is a higher calling for a higher vessel of God. With the Holy Spirit you become a vessel of honor, a vessel of praise in God’s eyes.
When you don’t have the Holy Spirit in all of HIS fullness you are just another vehicle that is not operated by the Spirit of God.
If we don’t do something about “self,” pretty soon self becomes entangled with the enemy of our souls. Then it changes from “self” to a “wrong spirit” within our beings. When you first started out it wasn’t all that bad. But it matures into something evil. Then it becomes death. So anyway you look at it we grow. We either grow toward wrong or toward holiness in God. There is no parking along the way.
God wants us to come out from the world’s walk and be separate unto HIM. But the modern church is coming together with the World. We need to be free from bondage. Sin causes us bondage, not freedom.
Without the Lord we all get out of hand, out of control. The jails are becoming full. There isn’t enough room for all the prisoners, all because of the power of sin and evil.
God is the answer. God wants you to have a home full of holiness. When you go against the Spirit of God you start to have problems. We need to have much help in all of these areas.
We need help through the power of God and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Ghost is that power.
