The Tool Box and Buzzards
The Tool Box and Buzzards 20151115
Preached on November 15, 2015
Well yesterday I was out here watching these old buzzards come down, zoom down, pick up, take off. You know what buzzards do? They pick up dead things. Now as I started watching them the Lord started putting in my heart: that is what the Christians are doing. They are zooming around. Until they get saved they are meant to do that. But after they get saved they are not, no longer, to zoom down and pick up old dead stuff.
And that is what, many times, the Lord put so vividly in my mind. That is what we do. We go after dead things. We should be growing. Anything that stops growing, what does it do? It dies. The Lord said the church died a few years back. It has never arisen to a living place. You got to live after you first live. If not, what happens? You die!
What a buzzard picks up smells. It is not good to look at. It is a scavenger that picks up bad things upon this earth. The Lord give it here [the buzzard] that it might pick up the bad things. Actually HE put the devil here for us too.
HE [God] gives us like a tool box. This tool box got a bunch of tools in it. Its got a Bible, that you [may] grow. You get out of the Bible [drawer] and you start pulling [other] drawers out [in that tool box]. In those drawers you start finding out its got tools of love. Oh, a whole drawer of love coming out with it.
“Charity” [an old English word for ‘LOVE’] “suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things…” [1st Corinthians 13:4-7]
Oh, I want to stick that drawer of love halfway back in [to have constant access to love while you go through the other drawers]. Cause there is another drawer down here: faith.
Right here this morning there is a lady that was in [a town 30 miles north of here]. The Lord said my faith, I’m not counting my faith as puffed up, but the Lord told me this. In that town she stopped. We didn’t know what was wrong with her.
[Brother Freedom is speaking about a very, very great miracle that occurred with his wife, Vivi. Vivi does all the driving because Brother Freedom no longer drives. They were shopping in a store when suddenly Vivi had a stroke or a TIA. Something went wrong in her brain. She was confused. They were stuck 30 miles away from home. She was walking strangely, didn’t know where she was. Brother Freedom helped her to find their car. God spoke to Freedom and asked him if he could believe by faith that God could cause her to drive and take care of everything.
At first she couldn’t drive at all properly. In the natural they were doing something crazy and dangerous. In the natural they needed to call 911. But as Brother Freedom began to pray and believe her driving suddenly straightened out. She didn’t know what was going on. She was out of it. But it was as if an angel took the wheel. She drove perfectly, even though she really wasn’t even there. Even to this day Vivi has no recollection of what happened. She drove down the freeway perfectly until they got to Vivi’s daughter’s business. Then Vivi started to come back to herself again. Vivi went to the doctor, had a CAT scan. The doctors could find not a thing wrong with her brain. God touched and healed her. She has never had a single such thing happen again. This event occurred a year before this sermon you are reading today was preached.]
So we got her in the car and we started jumping around out there [in a parking lot]. Didn’t know what to do. Went to the back of Sears, knocked over one of these things that had clothes on it. She was out of it. I got her in the car and the Lord says, “Do you have faith in ME?” I said, “Yes, I do.” “She will take you home.” And I did not touch the wheel. And she did not know where she was at. And I know that they would lock me up in the funny farm today if they… But so help me that is the truth. She got to [her daughter’s]. [A friend of her daughter’s drove Freedom and Vivi the rest of the way home. But Vivi had driven at least 15 miles to get to her daughter’s location.] He [the man who drove them the rest of the way home] did not drive near as good as she [Vivi] drove!
So we have to have the drawer of faith. Faith is what gets us through this life.
“…faith…the evidence of things not seen.” [Hebrews 11:1b]
We have to have the drawer of endurance. They “…that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” [Matthew 24:13 and Mark 13:13] That drawer down there, when you have got to “…lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.” [Proverbs 3:5b-6]
Its got a whole bunch of drawers there [God’s tool box for the believer]. We have got to get them out there and expose ourself to it, because it is just not getting saved. Those old drawers get rusty. They get smelly. But I tell you when you get that Spirit of “Great peace have they which love thy law…” [Psalm 119:165a] When we start eating the Word of God, loving the Word of God [there] becomes a peace within us. It becomes a closeness that we have that puts us in a place of sanctification with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost. And without that we are like a bunch of buzzards up there. Wow, we drop it. It doesn’t get picked up. It is just out there stinking, hoping a buzzard will come down and pick it up. Satan is out there trying to remove what you have. He wants to take away that great peace.
And God does not want it easy, because HE has a bunch of kids that are not wimps. They are on fire for HIM. HE gave them power.
[Next Brother Freedom speaks words given to him by the Spirit of God. These words are backed up by many Scriptures in the Bible]
“Behold I give you power over death, grave and Hell, nothing [that] shall offend thee shall prosper.”
God gave us power. The child of God has power. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” [Acts 1:8]
What is wrong: we have gotten plain lazy. We are lazy, lazy, lazy Christians! We don’t know what it is to go home at night and (what the Lord told me) to read the Bible, tithe your time [reading HIS Word]. Would you do it?? Would you go out here and when you go to work pray in the Spirit. Some of these things, this is what God might cause you to do. “…be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain…” [1st Corinthinans 15:58]
What labor you are out there is not in vain. Christian today wherever you are throughout the world, what you have is not in vain. Because when you sit down there in Hell for ever and ever and ever it is going to be a terrible [place]. I wonder every day. I want to make sure I’m where I should be with the Lord. Who am I to tell God what to do?? There is only one sure way. It is living what the Bible says! And what people are doing, they are using part of the Bible and making it their whole salvation. God is love. Yes HE is. Well you can’t just use that one phase. You got to take the whole Bible and read it, and read it, and read it, and eat it, and digest it, time after time. And don’t take what you get over it the first, the second, the third time as what you are going to get out of it [finally, God has much more and many deeper things for you, so you must keep reading and re-reading]. Because you will keep getting more and more of God. HE wants you to grow. That is the grow procedure that takes place.
[Brother Freedom was taught of God to not only study the Bible, but more than that to eat the Bible. As an example in questioning Brother Freedom it was discovered that for a period of a decade he would read the entire books of Ephesians and Romans every single day, seven days a week. He would arise at 3:00 a.m. (before going to work at 6:00 a.m.) and tithe his time reading the Word of God. He would read two hours and 24 minutes. But he would often read longer than that! After a period of time those books came alive in him.
The Bible is more for your spirit than it is for your mind. That is because the Bible is food and seed. If you get God’s Words into your spirit then the Holy Spirit will digest and feed it properly to your mind. But most believers feed their minds first. That is wrong. You must feed your spirit first. Why is that?? It is because the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit is the ONE of the Trinity who inspired every word in God’s Book, and the Spirit of God lives in the spirit of the believer. And the Holy Spirit is the only ONE who can properly and fully and correctly interpret the Bible. Those who analyze the Bible mentally are often the ones who have started false cults and religions from it.
The Bible is like powdered milk. You can mix it with the water of the Holy Spirit or you can mix the Bible with the sewer water of worldly thinking or you can try and take the Bible in with no water. The Spirit of God is essential to making the Bible into food for the spirit of man. But you never ingest powdered milk directly. You would choke to death! The great saints of God are those who are anointed by the Spirit of God as they read the Word of God. They are the ones who hear directly from Heaven.
“Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the LETTER, but of the SPIRIT: for the letter killeth, but the Spirit giveth life.” [2nd Corinthians 3:6] If the Word of God is not anointed by the Holy Ghost, it can destroy you. It is powerful and hard and sharp and rugged. It must be anointed by the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost of God. Then and only then will it do it’s proper work in you. A seed without water can never bring forth life. God’s Word needs the water of the Spirit.]
You start with a message of nothing. You start out with a message of growth. “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” [Psalm 119:165] “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” [Psalm 119:11]
I pray out there today that you are growing in the Lord. I don’t know where you are, out there, but you need to grow. And, I need to grow yet. There are some things that sort of kick us off. We are not really pleased. And God wants us to do, to work out that place, “…endure hardness, as a good soldier…” [2nd Timothy 2:3] We need to have that endurance that the Lord will keep us in a time of troubles, a time of disaster, [and] we are still on fire for God. We can’t have it just our way. It is God’s way!
See, God is the ONE that keeps the record. And like those buzzards up there, they are just floating around up there looking for any dead thing that is going to fall. Well, Satan is doing the same thing. He is looking for any one of us to fall, to lose out our joy, to lose out that peace. Oh, that special peace.
[The Spirit moves on Brother Freedom as he begins to weep and speak in tongues of praise.]
Oh, the glory of God! I can rest in HIS love. I can rest between HIS power. And I tell you if we don’t be careful we are going to miss out on the greatest thing. It says that all the overcomers shall inherit [all things from the Lord God] [See Revelation 21:7].
See, an overcomer, that is what we are to become. When you start a job it is sort of hard. Well, you can’t do it at first, really. [When] it starts getting better, that is overcoming. And really that is like an engine works. And engine overcomes. It’s piston is pushed down, comes up on compression to the top and fires and pushes that piston down. The piston is hooked to a crank shaft, it moves. It comes up. What does it do? It exhausts. It sucks [fresh air in] on a four cycle engine. And that is what God has us [to do]. We take in. We take out. But we are like that buzzard. If we are not careful we are going to lose out on what we have with the Lord.
God has placed in us a hope that is stedfast and sure, [See Hebrews 6:19] a hope in HIM, a hope that HE is coming back. And our hope is in HIM, if we stay where we should be with the Lord. I believe that if we get out here and tell lies and tell untruths; the Bible says that every liar will have a place in the lake of fire, which burneth forever.
[“…and all LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” [Revelation 21:8b]]
See, we know that God has a forgiveness. And that forgiveness, we need to get that drawer [of forgiveness open]; we call on God to have HIM forgive me.
“Father, if I have failed THEE, I want YOU to forgive me right now.” That is that drawer that all of us have to seek for. It shows our humbleness. Bible says, “…and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE may exalt you in due time” “…IN DUE TIME: casting all your care upon HIM; for HE careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist STEDFAST…” [1st Peter 5:5b-9a]
If I can get anything in you and to my own spirit: be STEDFAST! God is worth it all! And I don’t want to see nobody; surely we don’t want to see anybody in Hell. We want to see everybody in Heaven.
I want to go see Jesus! I want to see HIM, very soon. And I pray that God will bless all of you. But, think about that. It is like a growing process. You have to grow from a baby into a human [adult]. A boy or a girl, a man a woman. A husband a wife. These are growing processes. And God talks about growth in the Bible. “…a sower went forth to sow…” [Matthew 13:3b] [The farmer of ancient times would walk through his field casting seeds evenly upon the ground, that there would be a crop of grain at harvest time.]
And so there is a growing process, dear children, dear one, this day. And God wants you to get into that growing, and that is staying active in the program [of God, eating the Word of God]. If you don’t get into that program you are out there just reading here and there. But that is not the idea. God wants you to grow in HIM. HE has got a place for you. And that place is on fire for HIM.
God Bless you all in Jesus Name. Amen. Amen and Amen and Amen.
