The Extreme Value of The Anointing

Scripture Reading: John 14:12-18; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 2:39; Romans 8:6-11
The greatest gift is salvation. But Jesus left to prepare us a Heavenly home. Jesus said,
“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send HIM unto you.” [John 16:7]
This truth is very plain. Jesus is in Heaven making intercession for us right now. The Comforter or the Holy Spirit also makes intercession for us according to the will of God. [See Romans 8:27] The Spirit does many other wonderful things as well.
God is a consuming power and way beyond the imagination of any human being. HE wants to dwell within us. We are the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost. In John 14:17 we read that the Holy Spirit will not only be WITH us, but HE will be IN us. But the world cannot even grasp who or what the Holy Spirit is.
“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for HE dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” [John 14:17]
Brother Freedom shares that in the churches that he has attended the folks who were the most troublesome were those who did not believe in the importance of the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit. To make matters worse the churches he attended catered to those who did not believe in the deeper things of the Holy Spirit and the moving of the Spirit of God.
That is a very sad fact because believers and churches are to be known by their fruit. Those churches were saying something that they were not, because the Holy Spirit is the very life from God to us.
It is hard for men to give us direction. The direction is getting people saved, but then they are to be candidates for a college, which is the School of the Holy Ghost. You don’t treat babies like college graduates! New believers are very much in need of learning. New believers need to learn the basics and then they need to learn how to come into holiness. The Bible plainly says that the Holy Ghost does not dwell in an unclean vessel. Good preaching helps us to see this. We need to see that being forgiven does not mean we have total purity. We need to grow and mature toward the fullness of God when the Holy Spirit can come and dwell in all fullness within us. God wants a holy people.
“FOLLOW peace with all men, and HOLINESS, WITHOUT WHICH NO MAN SHALL SEE THE LORD“ [Hebrews 12:14]
There are people who say they have the baptism with the Holy Ghost, but their lives don’t stand up to what God wants in the life of holiness. If we are not walking in holiness our communication to Heaven is cut off. Through the Word of God we can grow toward and into holiness.
The Anointing of the Holy Ghost is something beyond our imagination. This truth should have been taught. The Holy Ghost brings HIS anointing to the believer and that anointing is so powerful, so mighty, so wonderful. It is the glory cloud of God. It is beyond our imaginations. God wants us to be indoctrinated with HIS power that we would learn to be overcomers, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, that we would be on fire for God.
Brother Freedom asks a very telling question: “Pray tell me how you can be on fire without the Holy Ghost??”
He answers his own question: “You Can’t be!!”
When the Spirit of God came upon Brother Freedom he went weeks drunk in the Spirit of God. He could do all his work, but nobody knew what to do with him. He was full of joy. He saw visions. He will never forget that experience. [He does not go into that here, but in other sermons you can hear of his experience of seeking for the fullness of the Spirit of God over a one year period of prayer for more of God.]
The fullness of the Spirit in your life brings forth a settling, a compaction in God. Brother Freedom speaks about his work with dirt and how compacted dirt is stable and useful. Loose dirt will wash away. We need the compaction of the Holy Ghost upon us! We need the effort of God upon us that we walk in HIS strength.
There is a huge difference walking in the strength of God’s Spirit versus getting your direction from your own heart. God does not make mistakes. When you are directed from your heart, as good as your heart may be, you don’t know the will of God! You might say, “Yes I do!” No, you do not know the will of God from your heart. You don’t know the heart of God. Only the Holy Ghost knows that! If you want to move to the higher realms you need to adapt yourself to the Holy Spirit of God. There is a baptism in the Holy Spirit that can come upon you just as it was in the book of Acts. And it says that this is available “…as far off as the Lord thy God shall call.” This fullness is in order until the last sunset. God still approves of the Baptism in the Holy Ghost!
It says you shall receive POWER. A truck or any machine that has no power is useless. The more power it has the better it is liked. We Christians, unless we have that unction of the Spirit of God there is no power! When you have the witness of the Spirit of God, then you KNOW that you are hearing from Heaven. You are not hearing as a natural man. And many times you go beyond hearing. The Spirit of God causes you to just know in your knower. That kind of knowledge is faster than words. It is the unction of God.
Where God’s Spirit is there is liberty. There is anointing. There is strength. There is power.
The modern Christians tell the Holy Ghost what they want HIM to do. But it is not that way! HE tells us what to do!!
When you go in your own way you are showing disrespect for God! We are not to differ with the Spirit of God. We have got to yield to the Spirit, totally.
In yourself your success is “hit and miss!” But with the Spirit of God you are never wrong. With the Spirit of God the glory cloud of God comes down where you are.
Brother Freedom explains that he does not know the technology of how God uses HIS Spirit in the way God does. But, Freedom does know that it is. He knows that God does these things, he just doesn’t know how God does it. The Spirit of God can help you in the same way. The Heavenly prayer language is the evidence and a key in the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Brother Freedom reminds us of how the master violinist can take that instrument and do mighty things. So also when that master teaches a good student. The Holy Ghost is the master of all things and can bring us to a wonderful level of glory and rightness in God. God is the MASTER that wants us to grow. God wants us to have liberty. HE wants you to walk in faith. We need to be alive unto God and dead to this world. The Holy Ghost is the ONE who makes that a possibility.
Brother Freedom remembers that when he attended churches that were against the power and move of the Holy Ghost that he would lose ground and get out of God’s will at times. But when he got away from those wrong influences the Holy Spirit of God was able to bring Freedom back to the higher plain.
Satan fears those who are full of the Holy Ghost, who have that overflow of God. Then you can command Satan to get away from you and he will back off. But if you try to do that within yourself, outside of the power of the Spirit of God, even when you use the name of Jesus against Satan, it often will not work because Jesus says, “I don’t really know you.”
Remember, the “knowledge” of God is all about intimacy with God. It isn’t about head knowledge or Bible degrees or years of church attendance!
Suddenly Brother Freedom begins to speak, by the Spirit, what Jesus HIMSELF is saying to those of us who are not moving by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus is saying that if we don’t believe in the ONE that Jesus and the Father sent back to help us, if we don’t believe in the move of the Holy Spirit, then Jesus cannot touch us. We are thwarting the hand of God! God chooses to move ONLY THROUGH HIS SPIRIT, no other way! When we move in ourselves we are moving in an area of PRIDE.
Brother Freedom explains the terrible pit fall of PRIDE.
There are people who try to function in the gift of interpretation and they are not moving by the Spirit and they bring a terrible thing to the church. Women seem to fall into this trap often in the Pentecostal movement. God does not send messages to us telling us how wonderful we are. God does not want to give us a case of pride. Usually when God speaks it is in correction or in direction…but it is never in flattery. [Brother Freedom did not go into this fully here, but he does in other sermons.]
The anointing comes upon Brother Freedom to pray for some folks who had written in for prayer. They were on their way to Houston to get special medical help. This prayer can be effective for you if you will believe and trust in the Lord God with faith.
Later in the message Brother Freedom prays for all the listeners.
All the gifts of God are for today also, not just the first century. But we need to have the anointing in order to see the gifts work properly. The anointing brings freedom and release from bondage. Many who call themselves saints are really in bondage. They are living a life of guessing. They don’t know by the Spirit of God. They read in the Bible, but there is no anointing.
Our first priority has to be the Spirit of God over the things of this world. Then with the Spirit your worldly work will come out properly and in order.
Freedom tells how the Spirit directed him to drive to a certain ranch. The Spirit told him what kind of a tractor they had and exactly what needed to be done to prevent a great break down of that equipment. God knows what is wrong with your tractor. God knows everything!
God gave R.G. LeTourneau visions as to how to build those amazing earth moving machines that we think LeTourneau invented. But it was God. LeTourneau was a man of God who prayed!
Satan is amazingly smart. Satan is going to make you feel that if you go to church all is okay. But if you miss out on the last day, Satan has a victory, and you have got a defeat. Satan knows how to confuse us into wrong ideas, wrong ways.
Coming against the Holy Ghost is burying a talent, a gift from God. Yes, it is, because the gift of the Spirit of God is a mighty type of a talent. If you refuse the Spirit of God you are like the man who buried his talent. That man was rejected! That man was cast out! God has no recourse, but to deal with us in a strong manner.
The anointing is a help that brings flavor to our lives!
Many of the promises of God don’t work outside of the anointing of God. It takes the Spirit of God to bring them to pass!
Without the Spirit of God you are in “The Mechanical Church!”
The overcomer listens to the Spirit of God all the time. Many believers are on a false way. You need a direct encounter by God the Father, set free, the anointing. That is why there is so little healing in the churches today. There is no true anointing from Heaven by the Holy Ghost in those places.
The Lord told Brother Freedom that HIS Church today is asleep. They are asleep because they do not have the true Spirit of God. Brother Freedom now understands why Jesus said that few are going to make it to eternal life. Those who walk in the natural man are asleep.
How could Jesus say that we will do greater works than HE did.?? Brother Freedom reveals that it has to do with the Spirit anointing. That is the only way greater works can be done. They must be done under the direction of the Comforter.
The anointing puts a foundation under you in God. Without a foundation we cannot stand.
Our minds cannot cope with the problems of this day. Only the anointing can guide you through the pit falls of this end time period.
Brother Freedom shares the secrets of drawing nigh or near unto God in order to overcome evil by the anointing.
Jesus and the Father delegated power to us through the channel of the Holy Ghost. We must seek this fullness. It is not automatic!!!
Brother Freedom is seeing churches falling. Your life is at stake. You need the glory of God, the anointing of the Holy Ghost! The Spirit of God is the doorway in this era that God has provided for us to have contact with Jesus and with the Father. Jesus is in Heaven, but the Spirit is here on earth to be our comforter.
The Spirit is the ONE who is going to present the spotless church to Jesus as a virgin bride. The Holy Ghost is trying to get us ready because Jesus is coming back soon. But the church is asleep and not spiritually prepared.
The Holy Ghost makes Psalm 23 come to life in the believer. Those truths are not available to those who reject the anointing.
Brother Freedom gets so blessed by the message that God is pouring out of him in this sermon.
The Spirit brings us into one accord, no division, unity.
But the modern believer and modern leaders want something where they command others. That is devilish! It is not from the Lord God.
For the Spirit of God to remain alive in you, you must humble yourself!
That praying in the Heavenly language builds you up and advances you in the direction God wants. It brings life into you day by day.
This service would be very dry if it wasn’t for the anointing of the Holy Ghost. And yes, the meeting was alive in God.
Brother Freedom prays for healing upon each listener. He prays for backsliders.
