Scripture Reading: Revelation 1:3-8
Brother Clint opens telling how he met Brother Freedom in 1994 and learned things from Freedom that the seminary professors never seemed to be aware of in the Holy Scriptures. All the required seminary readings seemed to miss these truths in the Bible as well.
“…the time is at hand.” [Revelation 1:3b] Freedom declares that the time of the Lord’s return is set. That time is here. The timing is in a time set that we are involved in now. Nothing is going to change the timing of God.
Those that read the prophecy of revelation are blessed! This is some of the best Bible reading sections you can get into, when you read the Book of Revelation.
We are in the final era when wrong spirits are influencing the visible churches. All the negative things are appearing within the ranks of those who the world believes to be Christians. The whole church world is turning to pleasures. They are looking for having fun.
Fun and entertainment can seriously steal our limited time that we need to seek the Lord. Eternity is right in our face. Time is extremely short. We don’t have a lot of time to get things in order before God checks our balance sheet.
The church of the Lord Jesus Christ is asleep. There is no move of the Spirit of God in most churches. The churches have a form of godliness, but no power. They do not have the genuine anointing of God. They are practicing Christianity. As Brother Clint is reminded: it is like a flight simulator. Christians are in a simulation of a real flight with God. But it is just practice in too many cases, not the real thing.
The church is so far off from the true path that they are getting out of range to even hear from Heaven. They don’t know God’s voice. They don’t come at HIS call. The church is not listening or hearing the Lord God Almighty!
Brother Freedom calls our attention to the series of tornadoes that hit the U.S.A. in March of 2012. God speaks on the weather channel! God is saying, “Oh, church wake up!” Brother Clint is reminded of how at the end of a concert intermission the auditorium manager blinks the house lights on and off to get folks ready for Act II. God is blinking the lights, shaking things around, trying to warn humanity that God is about to make a major appearance.
Brother Freedom prophecies that Jesus is going to return at a moment when there is a lot of disturbance in the world. And in that disturbance many are going to have their focus on the upheaval. They will miss the exodus of God’s purified ones. Folks will be looking and wondering, glued to their TV sets, watching in awe at the great disturbance and missing the last train out to Heaven.
Brother Freedom speaks about how good deeds, as wonderful as they are, can totally captivate a Christian’s mind causing them to lose focus on the return of the Lord. [See Titus 2:13 that says we need to be looking for the return of Jesus Christ.]
While working for the needs of people we need to keep our minds on the return of Christ. A need is not the top priority. The return of the Lord is the top priority, the next thing on God’s agenda.
God allows these confusing disturbances because it filters out those who are not totally in love with the Lord. Those who have some other thing arising to top priority are proving to God that HE and HE alone is not number ONE. God demands to be number ONE.
God is going to take HIS true ones out so that HE can come and straighten out the mess down here. We need to be out of here because the process of purifying this old world is going to be a tribulation beyond imagination.
You need to wait upon the Lord because every step of your life needs to be directed by HIM. God is calling the church to awake, but the church is still sleeping. Christians are still infatuated with all the good things in this world. Folks are still busy planning trips, recreation, cruises, trips to the Holy Land.
God says that we need to wait for the return of HIS Son and we are in the last gasps of the age of grace. This is “T” minus 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5…. It is getting very, very late in the game.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” [Luke 21:28]
The Holy Spirit tells Brother Freedom that this means we are to look up to Jesus. This is not a time to focus heavily on anything down here. We need to push the “down here” things to a secondary level because our spiritual eyes need to be searching the Heavens for Jesus and our prayers need to be seeking more of God in our lives.
Brother Freedom reminds himself and us that even he must keep his focus on the Lord. The prize is too great to be missed because we focused on a trip. Our focus is very important. You might take a trip…but you better not let that trip ever get in top position. You better not let any hobby get in top position. You better not let church work get in top position. Only God HIMSELF is to be in top position!
The return of Christ is coming and it is going to be like a flash bulb going off. It isn’t going to be like the run up to an election! It is going to happen in an instant and you won’t have time to get ready. You have got to be ready in advance with your spiritual bags waiting at the door! The return is sooner than you think!
We as God’s children need to be waiting on HIM! If you wait on God, even if HE doesn’t come right away, God is going to take special care of you. But if your mind is some place else and your focus is off in the world, your spiritual covering is going to be pretty thin or non-existent!
God is your provider and HE responds to those who have a mighty focus on HIM.
In this modern world busy-ness is a great pitfall. You may not be an evil person, but busy-ness can put you among the ranks of the wicked ones. Why? Because busy people focus on their work. They have a powerful focus on the things of this world. So pray much and ask the Lord to help you keep your focus on HIM, even though you are busy. And drop anything that God directs you to drop.
Brother Clint dropped an important hobby. Brother Clint was so obsessed with that hobby that the hobby was on his mind much of the time. God convicted Brother Clint and he sold off all that equipment and got set free. That hobby was no longer needed. It was a hindrance to Brother Clint’s spiritual life.
When your focus is not on God, number ONE, then you have lost your “first love.” That is terribly serious.
WE NEED TO BE READY!
“…present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” [Romans 12:1b]
In plain, modern English this scripture is saying that presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice is the very least that we can do for God! God’s standards are very high. The very least that HIS people can do for HIM is to make HIM number ONE above all else.
Brother Freedom encourages you to take some time with God and seek the Lord. The stakes are infinitely high! Everyday you need to wait upon God.
God has the whole package! God has got it all! Everything else is just a mirage that will turn to dust in your hands. The world has nothing but dust to over you. But Satan puts a camouflage on the nothings of this earth. He makes it all look like eye candy.
To Brother Freedom the joy of the Lord is greater than all the tea in China. That’s Brother Freedom’s way of saying that there isn’t anything on planet earth that compares with what God offers HIS beloved.
When you are all out for God, God hides you in HIS secret place. You don’t have to worry about anything. God will take care of it all if you trust and live in God’s secret place.
The Christians have not learned these basic A,B,Cs!
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” [Isaiah 40:31]
Jesus is the answer to all the problems we face. Jesus is the focus, the ONE we look to. Jesus will send the Holy Ghost to you and baptize you in the Holy Ghost, giving you power that you can overcome.
